Adventurers Program
Welcome to Your Child’s First Summer Camp Journey!
Give your child the opportunity to experience all that Driftwood has to offer! This 9am – 12:15pm program gives our 2 year old Campers a safe, nurturing camp experience aimed at supporting their early child development. Join us knowing that Your Child is in great hands. Our Leadership Team and Group Leaders are in constant contact with parents to ensure they hear and see what our Youngest Adventurers are doing!
Our Goal
Our Adventurer’s Program supports the developmental needs of each camper. Our goal is to enhance all of the following by crafting a diverse program of activities that enrich the whole child:
- Fine motor skills
- Gross motor skills
- Communication skills including receptive, expressive language
- Cognitive skills
- Vocabulary skills
- Listening skills – following multi-step directions
- Social/ Emotional skills
- Sensory processing
Our Team
Decades of experience in childcare, education, and day camp make us uniquely qualified to create a safe and nurturing environment that allows each Camper to grow. Our well trained and carefully selected Staff is built up of childcare professionals with a variety of backgrounds.
Division Leaders will be your open line of communication throughout each day of camp. With preschool educational backgrounds, and all over 10 years as part of the Driftwood Family, they are in tune with the individual needs of children from a very early age. Whatever Your Child may need, they are here and available for you!
Group Leaders are all professionals, who love spending their summers giving our youngest Campers the most fun, safe, and enriching experiences possible. Fully focused on Your Child throughout the day, our Group Leaders are always with the kids! They are in constant communication with you after the camp day is over. Whatever you or Your Child needs, we will work together to ensure that it happens!
Counselors are more than just the energy and excitement in each group; they are the caregivers that will support, nurture and care for Your Child throughout their summer experience. Our Counselors come from all different backgrounds, but have one major commonality – a love for working with young children. Many are in school for education. Some have younger siblings they help care for, but no matter their experience, they are trained to care for children, putting their needs first.
Our Program
Our Adventurer’s days are action packed! Their days include a swim period, lunch and 3 additional activities!
Instructional Swim is conducted in our specifically designed 2ft pool with the aim of improving each Camper’s comfort and abilities in the water. With dedicated Red Cross Certified swim instructors delivering this hands-on instruction, we create a learning environment to help them develop pool safety and a love for the water.
Morning snacks and drinks are offered and encouraged throughout the day. Our hot lunch program is served prior to dismissal. With substitutions readily available, we will ensure that our Camper’s never go home hungry! We cater to almost any allergy or dietary restriction. Driftwood is a completely tree nut and peanut free facility.
The rest of the carefully designed program includes a variety of sports, arts, adventure and so much more! All instructed by Specialists who are known throughout Long Island for the programs they lead. Each Specialist will model what is presented to the children. They will modify all activities to meet the individual needs of each Camper.
