THE DRIFTWOOD WAY IS MORE THAN A CAMP

The Driftwood Way is the sound of happy children’s laughter. Cheering and chanting. Counselors becoming heroes to the Campers they love. Campers making new friends, acquiring skills and gaining self-esteem. These are just some of the core values of Driftwood Day Camp. We’re MORE, however, than a Camp!

The Driftwood Way is sharing our values and culture with the communities in which we serve. We offer diverse experiences that include lifesaving techniques and philanthropic efforts. We motivate our Campers and their families to work towards a common goal, with experiences that include, but are not limited to, free CPR/AED courses for all parents and staff, an annual Toy Drive for Cohen’s Children Hospital for those children and families confronted with serious health challenges, a Holiday Food Drive to provide warm meals and cheer for those less fortunate. Our Campers are not only encouraged to participate, but are instrumental in the process, thus creating life lessons to bring to their communities.

The Driftwood Way is to promote kindness, empathy, and good sportsmanship. When doing so our Campers receive Waggies, our unique Driftwood coined currency. This currency is used to “purchase” special parties, activities, late nights at camp, and much more for each Camp Group. This also helps to impact and reinforce generations of caring and empathetic children who will positively impact the lives of others as they grow to become adults. More Than a Camp!

The Driftwood Way is also demonstrated by our incredible caring Staff. At every turn, outside of camp, they spread our message. We frequently receive calls from the public who have observed our Staff paying it forward with random acts of kindness. A true community of caring and civic minded individuals. More Than a Camp!

What is the Driftwood Way? It’s dedicating ourselves to nurturing each of our Campers. It’s providing a safe and fun environment for each Camper to grow and prosper. It’s supporting family values, values that each Camper will carry outside the gates of Driftwood Day Camp throughout their lives!
